Another sweet dune image, Scott. Real nice comp, giving the image great depth. No suggestions here. Fine work.

Interesting to see the color vs the bw you have been posting.  I think I prefer the BW.  This looks great however, just like the feel of the BW.  Looks to be a little abrupt gradation in the sky from the CPL - cyan to dark blue toward the center.  I have found the post corrections to be problematic for me, I can never get them quite right.  Maybe an exposure of the sky without the CPL and then blend with the land expos. in post?  Seems to be much easier to deepen the blues/cyans more uniformly in post than relay on the filter.  I like the symmetry of the dunes around the mnts.

I like the long view of the dune structures, Scott.  The lighting on the distant dunes add a nice pop.  I'm finding the shadow in the center distracting, which has me wondering how processing for some extra contrast (in the brighter parts) of that area would look.

Man, you had a nice morning in the dunes, Scott.   I really like this color presentation, but I prefer the b/w's.   Having said that, the color combo works very well.   The balanced comp is perfect.

Scott, You really did come away with some fantastic images from the dunes. Nice seeing this in color and it is beautiful with great light, shadows and textures. As beautiful as this is the b&w images are my favorite, but I'm very much enjoying seeing this in color too. Fantastic work!

Hey Scott, forgot to answer your question concerning flowers in May.   Although I'm no expert in the correlation of moisture and wild flowers.  I'm sure it can't hurt.  I have had some good luck in May in the badlands and it has been an exceptionally wet year over most of Utah.  When you are planning your trip, drop me an email, maybe we can get together.

Your recent dune images have all been most excellent, Scott. I do like this color version. My only suggestion would be to reduce the blue and cyan saturation in the sky a bit. In comparing this with the B&W, I think the B&W carries the day for me.

Scott: I'm an avowed color junkie so this works really well for me. I love the light and shadow play especially and the marvelous texture of hte sand. Superbly crafted image.>=))>

Scott,

Love this!  I'm so glad to see this in color!  What is compelling here is the composition where the dunes and ripples up front literally draw the eye in to the scene.  The colors, especially the golden tones of the dunes are wonderful; the contrast appropriate for the scene and time of day.

If I had one small wish, it would be for more sky.  There's certainly enough to make this a great image, but for more comfort, just a little more.  No biggie.

That's an awesome foreground, with such great shadowing. I like the hills backing the scene up. I'd vote for just a bit more sky too.
