High Caliber Sunburst

I was hanging out in the desert this past week and took the dog for a stroll. I was walking past the shot-up sign (see photo below with Maggie and my rig) when I noticed this pattern on it. Delinquency creates art! sad

D5500, 18-140mm  Just picked up this camera and lens for a backup body to the D810 and also to use as my point and shoot walk around camera. The trip was its maiden voyage.

A bigger view snap-shot.

This is indeed a neat view, Harley.  The "sunburst" in the paint around the hole looks great and the long lines of cracked paint provide a good sense of flow.

Nice find and well executed on your part, Harley.  I'm liking how all the little cracks add to the image.  Very artistic rendering of Redneck graffitidevil

Harley, good eye to see this one. I really like this abstract image, even at the expense of this poor sign......laugh
Looks too big for .22 caliber, maybe 9mm.....wink

Cool pattern Harley. That is actually a pretty intact sign for some of those areas. The tiny cracks and the ring around the hole are great.

This is very cool. The blues and yellows make a great color contrast. I like the sunburst and the radiating cracks in the paint. The textures are nicely realized.

Harley: great abstract and I'd never have guessed the cause without your description. Maybe I  should find my old .22. enlightened Richard

Outstanding Harley!  Great eye, who woulda thunk?   That's gonna stick in my mind's recess now to have a closer look at some signs I may see.  Great stuff, quite beautiful in it's man-made ugly kinda way.
