Our first amaryllis to bloom this Spring. I like shooting these high key. LightDisc diffuser for BG. A Photo Art version can be found here. http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=241991&CGISESSID=520801c7761fe02d4e464376d4c4a738&u=4551&title_action=

Excellent high-key image, Bill. I like the comp and with the angled flower and the emerging buds against the white bg. Well set up, photographed, and presented here. My only reservation or maybe question concerns the front vertical oof bud? While I personally generally favor a softer look in flora images, and I not a sticker about edge to edge sharpness, I think in this case I would have preferred both those vertical buds to be sharp against the neutral, hgih-key bg. Not a deal breaker, however. devil

Beautiful.  I love the composition and the colors and the high-key treatment.

Gorgeous lighting, Bill, bringing out all the contrasts from dark to light and smooth to textured.  An image to savour !
