Man, am I jealous of the images you guys can get from the Owens Valley. I like this a lot, Harley. I like the symmetrical comp with the darker triangle in the hillside framing the trees, and the golden light in the hills above. Very unique take on this area.

This is very special, Harley.  Love the fall of the background drainage and the triangle framing the cottonwoods and wonderful Owens' color in the foreground.  Really well seen.  Excellent.

Harley,

Holey Moley, this is outstanding!  I was beginning to think that Dave had a monopoly on the Owens Valley and had captured all there was to photograph.  Apparently not.

For me, the triangular ridge creates a unique and fascinating element that directly connects the cottonwoods and colorful vegetation, with the warm light of the hills.

Breathtaking, yet quiet and warm image.  Kudos. devil

This is gorgeous, Harley. I have one minor suggestion...there is a deer trail on the ridge left of the ravine that you might clone out. You nailed the color and contrast to give an almost mystical mood to the scene. Great work, sir!

I love the foreground but might brighten it a tad.
Also tempting to take a bit off the top to below the rock cliffs.
Love the light and sense of place.

Yep, this is a beauty both in colors and form. The centered comp of trees and the triangle created by the alluvial fan work great. The 4x5 crop choice further accentuates the comp. Processing looks spot-on in the larger version. Who found this comp. anyway?  sad

This is fascinating, Harley.  There a nice sense of the abstract with all of the textures and the subtle changes in light, a great sense of depth in the larger view.  I'm thoroughly enjoying all of the subtle colors throughout the view, especially the blue, green, and reds of the foreground.

This is spectacular, Harley.  I love the downward v in the hill, the pyramid shape in the lower level of the hills, and the colors and balance in the trees and rabbit brush. I can imagine a tish of dodging in the trees, but I think that could be a mistake, since right now it has that feeling of sun coming but not quite hitting the viewer.  That gives an effect of anticipation that really adds to the whole.

Lovely image.  I like the trees at the bottom dead centre with the massive bulk of the barely lit hill bearing down on them and the gorgeous earty colours.  Very nice.

The triangular shapes above the trees help frame the image and add something unexpected to the view for me.  A pano crop just above the triangle above the trees would also work for me, but would remove lots of the image unfortunately.  Nice find.

Harley, this is a very well-composed image. I love the dark triangular shape and how it serves as a base for the zig-zagging ravine above. That triangle also perfectly frames the trees. The only thing I could see is maybe dodging the trees just a bit for more separation from the background.

Well smack me silly... That is just outstanding Harley. What a find. I love the golden light above, the rich colors of the foreground, the wonderful clump of trees, and that awesome triangle to tie it all together. I only have one huge nit; I wasn't the photographer.

This is outstanding, Harley. One of the most beautiful image I have seen lately. Shapes, colors, lines everything is at the right place. It reminds of Guy Tal's work and not because it is similar to his images but because in my opinion this is what he would call art. Nicely done!

Lovely design  to this composition. Each element has a unique role to play, yet they work so well together.

A marvelous piece of photographic artwork.

Wow.
Jaw-dropper is right. Gold and silver and a rainbow of color in the bushes at the bottom.  Truly a fascinating image.
