Blue Morpho on Natal Lily.
This blue morpho opened its wings for a few seconds. I got two photos. Lucky day. They almost always close their wings when they land.
D90, 105 mm, f/8, 1/160, ISO 400, original frame. Butterfly house shot, tripod and monopod not allowed. February 2017.

Great catch of a hard-to-shoot butterfly. The BG sets it off beautifully.

Centering the subject works out very well in this image. Great dof on the wings (handheld?!). I am not sure about the colour combination. But you apparently had no choice and it certainly separates the butterfly form the background. So, well done.

Great capture of the open wing position of this butterfly!  The butterfly is beautiful and so are the flowers.

These contrasting colors are wonderful. This is so warm and inviting with amazing detail. It is a definite wall hanger Yun.

Blue Morpho's are spectacular butterflies, Yun.  (A few years ago, we found someone who was raising them in captivity and then collecting their wings to make into earrings...)  The blue on red sure lets the bf stand out.  The larger version has a nice bit of extra pop.

Not only getting the shot of this butterfly with it's wings open, but getting it on a perfect background. Great image. Also great job of taking advantage of the opportunity.

Yun: Someone unfamiliar with this species would think this is a ho hum shot but I know the difficulty you faced and how you have to be really quick to get them with the wings open. And then to have such a great perch! Marvelous subject superbly captured.
