Getting Dark

Rambling through National Park Donau Auen in Lower Austria last week, I found this scene on my way back at dusk. I set white balance for daylight in order to keep the sense of "blue hour".

Comments and critique are welcome.

Gosh this looks so much better in terms of the colouration as compared to the thumbnail of the same.  Very pleasing fan of trees formed by the reflection and the subtle tones of yellow grasses opposing the twilight  blues in the sky and water.

Peter,

Fabulous and beautiful reflection image.  I must say the top is almost flat and with the far layer of trees splitting that upper half, might not have been all that exciting with just the upper half.  But the reflection absolutely rescues the entire image and transforms this in to a real engaging and beautiful image.  the large view is really impressive and also allows the exploration of the grasses and shoreline.  the water is absolutely silent.

I'm also really enjoying the "blue hour."  Wouldn't change a thing, no nits here.

Love these somber colors. I find myself drawn to compositions like this. I don't mind the 50/50 split at all. A very sobering image. The large version is a must see to fully appreciate this.

Great reflection and the blues really set the mood well.  Excellent!

The reflection is the star here. I also like the warm grasses and subtle light. Well done, Peter.

Definitely has a blue, almost melancholy feel to it.  The larger version has amazing detail, and I like the yellowish grasses in there. Those "tufts" of leaves in the trees on the left, for me, give a weird feeling of some animal being up there watching me...
The details in the reflections are super. Nicely done.

Peter, I'm really enjoying the look and feel of this image. This composition works great for me and I love the blue hour mood. In the large version the grass and reflections look wonderful. Excellent work! Nick
