The Embrace

Hello! Been a while since I posted in here. Here's one from our trip to the coast last year! We received a tip on some Northern Pygmy Owls, so headed up to the area. When I saw them I couldn't believe how small they were! I knew they were small but not THAT small! I was so excited to get to photograph them properly and without a huge crowd. These two were taking turns hunting, and at one point the male swooped down right in front of my dad's feet for a meal before perching back on the tree. I was photographing the female when all the sudden the male came and landed on top of her! Love was in the air for a few moments enlightenedbefore he flew back to his previous perch!

Thank you for looking! crying

Well, what can I say ? A rare opportunity, not everyone will be that lucky. You ended up with a very nice image, the thin perch adds a lot ! Nice one again, Jenaya ! Cheers, Hans

So lucky to capture the behavior! I like the isolated twig with the birds on top against the blue, it draws your eye directly to the subject. Nicely done.

Wow! Very opportune capture. Kind of a small perch to be "playing" on..

That's a really cool image Jenaya, super interaction you captured, it's one instance where it would have been nice to have more lens but you composed it well given what you had to work with, nice job! devil
