I think this is a juvenile Blue Heron (corrected below) , but not positive. There were other adult blues around, but also several  other egrets and herons.

I think it is a young egret because of the black bill and legs, but that's just a bit more than a guess. If not, I have no (r)egrets about my opinion. Anyway, it is a great photo whether it is a great or not. Nice placement of the ?; the background is wonderful and superb sharpness.

I'm only sure of what it's not—a juvenile Little Blue Heron. Perhaps an immature Little Egret? Immature White Morph Reddish Egret? Excellent picture anyway, with well controlled and detailed whites and a nice rolling surf background.

One thing that was NOT there was adult reddish, but it still could be a juvie. However, One thing i have never seen on the east coast of Florida (DelRay) are reddish egrets. Guess we will never know for sure!

Here's a pretty good match for your bird from All About Birds.

Beautiful shot. I like everything about it, particuarly, the focus on the bird and the surf at its feet blending into the blurred background.. Nicely done.

Definitely a tough identification.  If it wasn't for the long legs the other possibility would be a cattle Egret juvenile.  Perhaps it's the global warming issue?  In any case, I think it's a really nice image and I like the rolling surf at the feet of the Egret.  Nice composition.

Nice Sandy. I like the raised foot. Looks like some challenging light which you handled very nicely.
