Great Horned Owl #2

This is another image of the Great Horned Owl my wife and I were photographing last Sunday.  It is nesting in a tree about 100 feet away across a stream.  As mentioned in the last post it puts the owl just above eye level.  Weather was broken clouds so the lighting varied. Shot with 5D Mark 4, 500 f/4 and 1.4 TC.  It is about 70% of original image.  Thanks for looking and commenting.

I like this better than your first post and that one was great. Love teh open beak. I would dial back the exposure a bit. I looks  bit bright on my monitor.

While there's nothing wrong with this photo (it's quite great!), I much prefer the first photo of this fella. I do love the open beak in this one, though! Techs look good, though may benefit from exposure dialed back a tad.

Nice, Ed.  Hopefully you'll have lots of opportunities with cute owl chicks as the season progresses.  Excellent detail and I love the open beak.

I think I like this one better than the first post because of the open beak.  Certainly looks better as a larger image. Very nice detail and color here.  The large image is certainly more impressive.  The only thing I might wish for is a little more separation between the top of the head of the owl and the tree because of the similarities and texture.  Perhaps selectively darkening the tree might help.  Otherwise, very nicely done.

Awesome pose here Ed, I was thinking about cropping a bit closer to remove some of the out of focus branches. devil

Really dig this POV being so close to level. I usually find myself shooting up at these guys at a much steeper angle. Also like the open beak!
