Buffalo Sunrise

This is from last winter in Yellowstone. Taken from a car at sunrise on a cold November day. The frost on the bison's face is from his own breathing.

Canon 7D2 EF 70-200 mm at 70 mm
1/250s F/6.7  ISO 640

Cheers,

Hisham.

Really beautiful image Hisham. The sky and the mountain in the background make this image special. Well done.

Hisham, I like the 'environmental aspect here, but wish the Buffalo was on the RHS looking to the left. Also with the sunset behind I'm surprised the Buffalo is that well lit, I thought it would have been in shadow more????. If you get the exposure bang on, then you can push the ISO for greater SS, although I have always felt the 7D has always been less than forgiving if the exposure isn't perfect with more noise. Overall a nice image.

Hi Hisham,

A very nice scene - and one challenging to capture. Although I know what Steve means re: wishing the bison was looking more "into" the scene than out of it, I don't think one always has to stick to the traditional "rules" of composition (and I don't mind at all which direction the bison is looking).

This feels a bit too saturated to me...given the light it seems that there's simply too much colour on the subject. And...it does look like the image could benefit from a slight CW rotation.

Cheers...

Brad

I think this is a fabulous image.  It really conveys the mood and touches me with it, which is what I most like in a photo.

Hi Hisham,

I like this one as is but with the overall saturation reduced by a very small amount. Overall, this image boldly states the American West...........................................Jim.

Absolutely lovin it! The larger version is great. I agree the horizon line may be a tad off.
