One of the immature Howlers I came across during my stay in Costa Rica. Although he's up against a fairly cluttered background I loved the expression.

Great catch - I've never gotten anywhere close to these noisy guys.
Fine fur detail and pose. It would be easy to clone out the messy BG if you wished too - Topaz "Re-Mask"  would make quick work of it.
Fine image!

Hi Chuck,

I'm with you in loving the expression...and the catchlights in the eyes and fur detail don't hurt either! I agree that the background is fairly cluttered, but it is representative of the habitat the little beast lives in. By this I mean that I think sometimes we focus TOO much on accepted conventions (in this case the negativity of "distractions") and too little on capturing the animal in its preferred habitat which, in this case, is naturally "busy". If there was ONE branch crossing this little guy's eyes I'd agree it would be distracting, but here (and to me) those branches are part of the scene.

Cheers...

Brad
