Canon EOS 7D EF400mm f/5.6L USM
1/1600 sec;   f/9;   ISO 640
Manual;   Evaluative metering
LR5, PS6, Topez DeNoise on everything but the birds, Smart Sharpen on the birds, 91% of full frame.

I really love fluffy feathers on all birds, small and large, and I also like seeing the dark brown feathers with cream-colored stripes in the middle, which I've never seen before.  Oh, the fog is gone now.  I'm sitting on a bank.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Beautiful look at this pair Barbara. Love that bright red hairdoo. The larger image really shows off the details and the colors. Very nice. I might be tempted to shave off a bit of the grass from one side or the other to give this a slightly different balance, maybe the right side?

Hi Barbara, these are great subjects to photograph, especially if you can do 'detail' captures too. Always hard to get both in focus, if you had it, then bolting the 1.4 x would be helpful and I would then isolate just one subject.

Hope you get more opportunities.

Pleasing image Barbara I like the "opposite" looking birds.. Makes a different  shot from the normal.
Not seen these in the wild, but great looking birds.

A very nice job getting them both in good focus, Barbara.  I like the two different poses.  Definitely a different look from the fog!

This one works for me Barbara, nice clear look at these cranes in sharp focus. Very natural setting.
