Vermin to some but I like them !! Not that easy to photograph - what you might call "skittish!)
Lots of  chuck outs but slow shutter a problem at this site. Then again - how many keepers do you need !!
This  turned up  under a bird table, so for the purists its baited..
Nikon D200
Sigma 50-500
Hide tripod.
640 ISO
300 sec@f10
Mirror lock up.

I like it!  Good details and colors.  Also a good position of the rat in the image.  Always appreciate images of the little guys.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi John,

I'm not sure of your techs on this shot (300 sec?), but this one does look relatively sharp so whatever you did appeared to have worked! The shot is a bit busy but that's more of a reflection of where you find these guys rather than anything you did or didn't do.

Thanks for sharing this one..."vermin" are welcome in this gallery! enlightened

Cheers...

Brad

PS: The purist and gallery moderator in me is coming out...so here's a reminder of rules regarding baiting as per the posting guidelines for the wildlife gallery:

"Photos of captive wildlife taken at commercial game farms or photos taken using bait of any kind (including the use of recorded sound) are prohibited."
