This guy seems to be scratching an itch, but it looked like he was offering up a friendly wave cool

I had to look at the larger imge to see what on earth was going on with the head on this one, chuck.  Very nicely done and the "wave" is cute.

Does look as if it's waving!
Took me a couple looks to figure out the face, but very cool!
Great colours.
The heavily-shaded area is a little distracting, and I'm wondering if it could be lightened up with the "shadow" tool.
A new bird for me - very interesting!

Hi Chuck, a fun & unique pose of this subject, however on the larger image there is a truck load of noise in the shadows, so did you have to 'lift' the exposure? Detail looks spot on.

This is an interesting pose and like Dennis, I had to look real closely at the larger image to figure out what was going on.  You had some interesting light here, nice and warm on the right side and not enough on the left.  As a fellow D 500 owner, I am a little frustrated with the noise performance with this camera at iso 800 and above in light conditions like this.  I am finding that processing is hit or miss at times and it depends a lot upon which software tools one uses.
