Wings

The cactus flowers were amazing a couple weeks ago at our favorite gardens here in Southern California. This reminded me of wings for some reason. Canon 5D3, f16, 1/2500 sec, iso 500, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISL with 1.4 TC at 560 mm, Handheld, Spot Metering, 90 % of original, some rotation to make the wings even. Selective darkening of BG and lightening of flowers.

Beautiful! The yellow is almost translucent and glows, and the spikey darker BG sets off the blooms  perfectly. .
Lovely group of cactus flowers, and a great perspective.
There are several dark blips on the petals that you might consider removing
Otherwise, just about perfect. Very sweet image!
(And I like the frame sad )

Really nice these cactus flowers and well represented. For my personal taste the lights in the center ot the 'wings' are a bit to high IMO.

I'm jealous, cacti in bloom always seem special (to someone from a non-desert environment).  This is a fine look at this cluster of blooms, with great details in the blooms.  As someone who likes the spines too, I'd like to have less darkening of the non-flower parts even as I recognize that attractiveness of your processing to emphasize the blooms.
