We have a pair of osprey nesting on a big rock off the beach, within sight of our deck. There are several other pairs nesting further down the river, who come to fish off our beach.

We don't know if this is the same, immature pair that build several meager nests on the rock  last year that blew off. They finally gave up. If so, they must have spent the winter reading nest-building books, because they have done an excellent job this year, and we are now seeing mating activity.

Hoping for the full complement of 3-4   chickies in about 6-7 weeks.

Looks like they are paying attention to detail this year.  That is a nice nest.  Is there a Home Depot for Ospreys in your neighborhood?  I really like the wings spread in this image.  I suppose the only thing you could ask for more would be for the Osprey to be looking at you.

That's one heck of a nest for just one year's activity, Sandy.  You framed this shot beautifully with the incoming bird centered over the nest.  One of these years I'd love to find a nest that's not 50 feet overhead!

Nice capture, Sandy. You caught the full wing spread. Very well composed with the huge nest prominent but not overwhelming the image.

Sandy: it doesn't look like this nest will blow away anytime soon. Very good capture of the peak moment with the incoming bird's wing fully extended. Would like to see a version with the sky darkened just a bit via the graduated filter. Fine otherwise. Richard

This is a very cool image Sandy. The full wingspread with the nesting material in the talons is great. That sure looks like a well constructed nest. Some of the whites may be a little hot but this a great story telling shot!

I really like the placement of the Osprey in this one Sandy. Going high center with teh bird in flight was a very good decision (in my opinion). Good techs as usual. The only thing I would be tempted to do is crop this tighter. I think it would have more impact. I would take the room mostly form the sides and bottom and take just a sliver from the top. Nice work!
