I had an opportunity to be at the Desert Museum with a group of photographers while the trainers were working the birds for the upcoming summer Flight Programs. None of the birds are releasable, for many reasons.  Some were raised in captivity and others injured and rehabbed but are no longer able to hunt. They are now well taken care of with almost double life expectancy. The ones that can fly are trained to respond to the trainers for food tidbits. Not always 100% but, extremely entertaining and a great show.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Charlie: I'm surprised that this one hasn't received any comments. The diagonal formed by the wings and the clear view of the underside of the bird are very pleasing. My only suggestion would be to tone down the background a bit as its quite bright. The clipped of wing tips don't bother me as the image is so strong otherwise. Congrats!! Richard

The flight area at High Desert has some pretty difficult light and tough backgrounds.  I have never come away with anything even remotely this good.  Love the pose captured with the nice ventral view of the wings and the fanned tail.  Were they flying him without jesses?
