Pied Flycatcher
What can be worse than a black and white bird in  a dark puddle beneath trees !!
Fist session in the pool for  quite a while and this  comes down  before I,m really set up.. These have become quite uncommon in the forest this past few years.
Its really dark now the leaves are on the trees around and above.. The exposure is usually(on a decent day) about80th @f8 on 800 ISO. The only way out is to take  lots of shots if possible and bin most of them. Higher ISO is not really an option.

Really nice detail in the Flycatcher John with a sweet head turn and catchlight. I like the color that the rocks and leaves give to the image. The subtle reflection in the water adds too imo. I think I need one of those pools. enlightened

Even with the given conditions, a very nice image, John. Well done.

Thanks both. Its been the dryest April for years they reckon so good for pool stuff.
Got to rain soon.

Cool, John.  I've never heard of these.  An interesting color for a flycatcher.  Excellent job on the exposure.

You sure have a wide array of beautiful birds coming to your pond!
Have never seen this one - very beautiful, excellent handling of the whites, bright eye, and  those great  pebbles.
