American Goldfinch

I found this male Goldfinch working hard looking for seeds. Cropped from a horizontal, almost full frame top to bottom. I de-saturated the yellow by -5 because the color looked so bright. It looks natural to me now, let me know if you have an opinion.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are always appreciated!

I really like this.  I like the pose and the perch.  and the color works really well against your darker background.  The open beak is a plus.   I think you were wise to decrease the yellow saturation.  The sensors seem to exaggerate the yellow as I have found out with my most recent post and some Goldfinches.

That's a gem ! Bird , perch (Evening primrose ?) and background. Well positioned in the frame.
Small nit-Logo  would be better in clean area . Thats a real nit !!sad

Looks great to me! Nice pose, very fine detail, and interesting perch.
Saturation looks perfect from here.

The yellow does look pretty warm, Steve, but it's well within the range of yellows I've seen in this species.  Excellent detail and a good job on the exposure.

Steve, this is a nice clean, sharp image of this little guy in the open and in pleasing light.  For those like me favoring a natural environment, I appreciate that you didn't clone out the cobwebs as some might be tempted to do.

Very nice goldfinch, excellent color and feather detail. I like the fact as well that all of the destabilization was left in, including those cobwebs!!

Wonderfully captured! Your post processing looks spot on, and the yellow looks quite natural now so I can't imagine how bright it looked before haha. I usually see several American Goldfinch in the summer, and hope to capture one as nicely as you did here.
