My wife's title and I liked it.  One of many Great-tailed Grackle's displaying at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas Texas back in early April.  They always look so amazingly fierce when they display.  I was fortunate that this one chose the branch of a shrub beside the boardwalk as most of them opted for the railing as a display location.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 260 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/320, iso 1250, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  I had to pull down the highlights and brighten the shadows in the RAW converter.  I also reduced exposure of the bg slightly in PS.  Taken April 4th at 7:55 am.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Dennis, like the aggressive stance, the larger posting is a must to view.

Hi Dennis
The  birds feather texture looks a bit like my rooks ! Not easy in sunlight and you have some texture in the deep blacks.  Well done- its easy to go too far.

Challenge Indeed! This one really needs to viewed large to appreciate the detail in that angry face. The fanned out tail and raised wings are cool but I just love Grackle's eyes. This one pops nicely! Nice shot Dennis.
