This alcove in the sandstone country of Arizona provides a nice cool spot to relax and think.  The last few months have been trying, so visiting this location was welcome.
Single exposure with Nikon D810, 14-24mm at 14mm, f/8, ISO 64

What a wonderful place to relax and think! You've captured so well the beautiful striations and textures of the walls of this little alcove, and the soft pastels in the sky add to the sense of peace your found here. The tree silhouette adds lots of interest, too. Very nicely seen and captured. Hope your trying times ease up soon.

I like this very much. It's the delicateness of those leaves on that pale blue sky vs the powerfully massive sandstone that encloses it. Suggestions would be to raise the shadows just a tad and add a bit more color to the sandstone. I don't know if that would be better but it would be different.

Beautiful, Doug.  No suggestions from me.  I hope your sojourn serves you well.  Sometimes old friends or places add perspective.

Nice take on this place.  The super wide angle creates a unique perspective.

Doug, This is very, very nice. This composition with the 14mm worked out beautifully and I just love the way it looks. The wonderful sky in the background could not have been any better for this shot. Excellent work capturing and processing this. Yes, after some trying times I'm sure this was a welcome place to be. devil

This does have a great sense of relaxation, Doug, especially with the gentle pink/magenta clouds.  An excellent, "you are there" view.  Sure hope you carried some of that relaxation home with you.
