Canon EOS 7D Tamron f/2.8 90mm macro lens
1/200 sec;   f/9;   ISO 640
Manual;   Evaluative metering
LR5, PS6, Topaz Clarity on flower, Topaz DeNoise on background, full frame

This one you guys might like better.

The larger version usually shows better details, color and light. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I think I do prefer this to the previous image, Barbara, though that had a bold and unusual perspective which made you look.  Here, though, the range of textures in the whole flower comes across better, I feel.

Barbara

I prefer this one to the first as well.. Very nice image, good detail.  This is a flower I had not seen before.  Striking!

Best

Yes Barbara, for me the darkened background improves the image.

Hi Barb,

This one is very nice--big version has some nice details in the strips.  Dark BG makes this flower pop.......................Jim

Looks a bit like a Tiffany lamp shade! I prefer this to the previous one, because of the darker BG. Good work!devil

A beautiful flower, Barbara, and very well captured.  The image has an almost HDR look to it which is interesting.  Is that the natural look of the flower or the result of the Topaz Clarity adjustment?

Thanks, everyone.  Dennis, this is exactly like the flower looks.  Topaz Clarity only adds some light and does some sharpening, no HDR effect.  Not that I'm really sure what HDR is....
