House Sparrow

Took this about two weeks ago and have only seen one other this whole year.  I typically see two or three each year so they are not very common compared to Song Sparrows in this area.

Iso 320, 600 mm, F9, 500th, fill flash at -2, overcast, tripod, D 500, 85% full frame, Topaz and TK actions, minimal sharpening.

You have made the lowly House Sparrow look quite beautiful here David, love the detail, fill flash looks very natural . devil

Extremely sharp, David, with excellent dof and a good pose.  Their degree of commonality is very location dependent.  There are many in a development near here and they try to take some of our nest boxes here every year.

Elegant shot of an inelegant, invasive species.

Excellent shot of this Sparrow, David!  Great clarity, a perfect exposure and I love the dark green complimentary background.  Well done!

You sure make this common bird look good, David. A nice pose and a great perch. Be glad you don't have too many in your area. They are not very popular here competing with all of the native birds.

A really good shot of this bird which can be a real nuisance in some areas.  Here in Colorado Springs the House Finches have pretty well crowded out the House Sparrows.
