Pond Power

Valdez, Alaska tide flat vista with a focus on the tidal pond reflections.  It's actually rare to find the tide ponds completely calm.  There is usually at least a light breeze plus the shore birds and gulls are constantly landing and taking off.  This particular morning I was driving by and noticed that it was completely still and the birds weren't active at the moment.  I pulled over immediately, grabbed the camera and shot a number of multi-frame panoramas.  It only took about 10 minutes (as all of them were hand-held) and the wind had already picked up before I was done shooting.  I have a much broader view (longer panorama) but they don't do well on this site because they end up tiny due to the size restrictions.

The large file has much more presence.

Sony a6300, SE 16-70 Z lens @ 24mm, ISO-100, f/11.0, 1/400, hand held, 4 vertical photos, stitched with AutoPanoGiga.

The large version of this is really spectacular.  I love a good reflection shot like this.

The large view is stunning Gary.  Wonderful scene with excellent detail.  In addition to the perfect reflection, I like the low clouds on the mountain.

Nice panoramic composition.  I like the 'S' curve of the grass at the bottom and the reflection of the clouds and mountain. The colors look great.  And, as a bonus, it looks as if you caught a couple of eagles.  Well done.
