Breaking Wave & Redo

When we were on Kauai this January, I was fascinated by the blue in the breaking waves on one of our walks and tried to take some abstracts with my birding lens.  This was one I liked.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 435 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/4000, iso 800, manual exposure.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Full frame.  Taken January 29th at 10:28 AM.

Your comments and criticisms are very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dennis, this needs to be viewed large to appreciate.  In the larger view, the individual drops in the top quarter of the image show up well, which adds to the interesting patterns in the area just below the flying spray.  I wonder if there's a way to process the spray area for more contrast to let the flying water stand out better from the white foam background.

Hi Mark.  Thanks for the comment.  I think I can do that fairly easily.  I'll give it a try next time I fire up my real computer.

That delicate blue/turquoise is wonderful. I'm glad you didn't try to saturate it. I like all the motion in the white water, but am wondering if it could be cropped from the top just a bit. It's so bright that it takes away from the lower part just a bit.

Here's another attempt at this.  I cropped a bit from the right and top to reduce the amount of spray and added some extra punch to the spray using Topaz Detail.

The extra contrast throughout in the repost looks good, Dennis.

The color of the water here is really nice Dennis. I kind of lose some orientation for some reason in the frame on both of these, but the spray detail and the crystalline color of the water are beautiful.
