I usually find these guys down on the ground but this one provided a nice look up in a tree with a pleasant background.
I was happy with the backside view and the nice head turn to see that great eye.

Excellent in every way. The fill flash has really brought out the black plumage on the head and neck.

Yes, a species I almost always see on the ground in or near cover.

Outstanding detail in the Towhee Keith. No nits from me, everything is working here to make a very cool image and the open beak adds too. That red eye really pops!

Well done Towhee image.  You gotta really nice pose with the head turn and an open beak.  I now have mine really well trained to be up on the perch.

Nice pose and perch.  The red eye really pops against the green background.  Lately, most of the Towhees I've seen have been up in the trees singing.

A very nice look at this Towhee, Keith. Congrats getting it off the ground. You captured a great headturn, and the detail in the bird is great.

Nice one, Keith.  Excellent rendition of the blacks and I like the open beak as well as the eye.

Excellent exposure Keith. Thank you for sharing your specs. That red eye, the blacks, the whites, the BG, it is all good here.

Exceptional capture, Keith!  I really like the lighting in this, on both the bird and the background.  Lots of sharp details and a good job of managing the dark feathers and shadows without blowing the white markings.  Well done!
