I don't shoot man-made scenes much, but this morning was an exception. Upon arriving here, I had a hunch that the sky would light up but I had no idea that the fog would be high enough to cover the vista house. The fog was rolling in and was such a beautiful sight to see. I took a whole bunch of frames hoping that atleast one of them would show the vista house partially if not completely. Soon the fog had completely covered this classic view, but I was quite happy to return with what I consider (as a non-local) unique conditions.

Appreciate any thoughts you have on this one.

Beautiful colors and mood, with the wispy fog on the right adding a lot of mystery. It does seem to be split in half in composition, with the right side being more interesting to me. I might crop quite a lot from the left so the eye can appreciate all that's going on in the trees and cliffs. I am not familiar with this place...where is it? I don't see any vista house or know where it is supposed to be, for that matter.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the feedback. The Vista house I'm referring to is the one at the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. This is the view of it from the women's forum. :)

Hi Sairam,
I like this a lot.  I know this view (of the Vista House and from the Portland Women's Forum park), but I would not have recognized it.  I thought it might be from the Northern California coast? That said, I wonder what a slight crop off the left would do.  My eyes kept wandering to the tip of a ridgeline on the Washington side, and I lose focus on the clearly man-made shape of Vista house.  Just a thought. Nice work on it as presented as well.
