Not going to set the world alight with this one, but it was nice to come across this bull on the run back to camp. He was quite happy to just graze and watch the world go by and occasional pose for some frames.

Hi Steve,

Well...at least you set the number of views alight with this one (I think this is the first time I've been the FIRST commenter on an image with 350 views)!

The lighting and overall scene may not be dramatic here, but for me the frame is pleasing and somehow "calming". Of course, the techs look solid and with your usual and intentional emphasis on higher than "average" shutter speeds (compared to many other wildlife photographers).

Cheers...

'intentional emphasis on higher than "average" shutter speeds (compared to many other wildlife photographers).'

LOL yes even for me 1/2500 wss a tad high, could have dropped easily to 1/1600 for a 'static' images like this Brad enlightened.

I guess I get so used to pushing SS & ISO I rarely look at things now, I just know it delivers and long gone are the days of soft images through slow SS. However, we all work differently and you have both the technique and skill for low ISO & SS and it works.

cheers

Steve: I like the prominence of the bull in the frame which is emphasized by the uncluttered environment. Think that a bit more contrast would make the bull pop a bit more. Richard
