This photograph was taken on a different pond in Hammonasset Beach State Park,CT.
In this pond I photographed  a Snowy Egret, Great Egret, Ibis and this Little Blue.  The shot was taken hand held and is cropped by 30% in to a 16 by 9.  I adjusted the exposure, contrast, shadows and clarity in Lightroom.

Hey Peter,
Your crop choice works well and I like the position of the subject in the frame. Your exposure, background and detail are spot on with a wonderful side view and wing position. The large version is impressive but does appear a bit flat on my monitor.
Well done . . .  laugh

Very nice, especially in the larger version. I can't recall ever seeing a photo of this species in flight posted before.

Nice expsoure, excellent detail, natural color.

Very nice flight image, Peter.  Excellent detail and I love the blue on blue.  The only suggestion I might make is that for my taste it feels just a tiny bit crowded on the bottom.  Very well done.

Nice job on the processing here considering your light was not the best.  The image looks very sharp.  I agree with Dennis that it could use a little more room.

A beautiful flight shot excellent detail.  I like the pose you caught the heron in and the gray-blue against the blue background.  I agree with a tad more water below.

A beautiful bird and an excellent capture of it, Peter!  The gray color with the blue water background really works nicely.  Very nice detail all the way around, especially when viewing the large version.
