Some wild oat grasslands and hills in So Orange Co. CA.  Have come across some of these in the past, but do not remember one  with as many boxed nests in one location. I liked the stacked boxes and their colors sitting in the field. Was glad to have some clouds above the hills. All the hives were quite busy, but I kept a wide berth and had a few divers but no stings. Did not shoot as a panorama, but cropped in processing to keep a good balance with all elements.

That's an impressive "Apis mettropolis."  The hills, clouds and oats make a nice layered composition.  I particularly like the the screen of oats partially obscuring the boxes.

Most beekeepers wouldn't keep that many hives that close together. Odd. But I really like the photo. The colors of the hives in the dry grasses, the multiple layers and the contrasting greens all work very well.
