This was taken behind the Golden, CO Welcome Center last week. Nikon D800, 300mm. 320 sec, f 5, ISO 400, handheld.

I am trying for a more Impressionistic look. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Absolutely lovely, Kathy. Well balanced, great colors, and the action in the petals is something else. Very well made! devil

A beautiful image, Kathy. I really like the looks of the lead flower which seems to be all in nice focus and the others fading away into the bg. Wonderful lines from the grasses and stems. Excellent work.

I'd say you nailed the impressionistic look! This is beautiful with the main flower in good focus and the rest kind of blurred. Excellent.

Kathy: Just superb IMO! Love the selective focus and the color palette. I love coneflowers and you've done a great job with these. Many thumbs up. devil

Lovely, Kathy! The blurred BG almost appears as a watercolor image, so I think you nailed the impressionism. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Kathy

Beautifully captured frown

The soft background works perfectly against the delightful coneflowers

Definitely hit the impressionistic look here Kathy. Your colors, composition and DOF are really nice. Just like a nice painting. Print and hang.
