Monarda

The background is Bachelor Buttons.  I shot this specifically for this theme yesterday morning.  However the plants are always in our garden, so it was just a matter of taking the shot while waiting for hummingbirds to maybe show up at the Monarda.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 435 mm, tripod with ballhead and wimberley sidekick, f/10, 1/250, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR + PS CC.  I adjusted the tint slightly on this to get the bachelor buttons back to the blue you usually see as they came out slightly purplish in the early morning light.  Cropped from a horizontal original to a 4x5 vertical.  Taken at 6:12 am yesterday.

Good thinking on connecting your garden to the challenge theme, Dennis.    The details in the Monarda are great and the oof bachelor buttons add well to the background.

Nice one for this theme Dennis. The first thought I had was fireworks on the fourth. I love the intricate detail, especially in the bottom part of the flower here, and as others have noted, nice BG with the batchelor buttons.

Nice detail to catch the tiny hairs on the leaves and stem.
