This rufous hummingbird was trying to protect a nice patch of kangaroo paw flowers from several others who kept dive bombing it. The second post here is when I was photo-bombed by one of them. Canon 5Diii, f7.1, 1/3200 sec, iso 640, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISL at 400 mm, handheld, Appx 60% of original frame. Thanks for your C & C's.

Nice pose and detail on the Rufous.  Interesting flower.  I've never seen one of these before.

Nice frame of this rufous.  The environment works very well.

Nice pose and detail on the hummer.  The OOF flowers add to the image IMO.  Migration is still a month or two away here in Shasta County.

Pretty cool, Ed.  The photo bomb is what often happens with these argumentative little birds.  The hummer is tack sharp with a very nice pose.  I think you could clone out the two oof flower clusters and maybe crop just a tiny bit tighter.

Ed, beautiful bird and beautiful flower. I, too, I agree with Dennis about cloning out the OOF flowers.

Nice shot Ed, and the hummer is very sharp and detailed with an exposure that looks right on.  I agree with others that losing the two OOF flower clumps would be beneficial.
