Watching African wild dogs - better described by their alternative name 'Painted hunting dogs' - hunt is absolutely spectacular. This hunt that I witnessed lasted literally 1 minute. The puku ran for its life but was cornered from all sides. Wow. I'll leave out the details from what happened after this shot. Suffice to say they are not only efficient hunters but also efficient eaters.

That's pretty savage looking and an excellent shot but yes you hve got to feel for the poor antelope.

Ingrid,
Quite rare to get an "on time" sighting of a Wild Dog.
The prey is generally dead in seconds, certainly quicker than all other predators

Ingrid: an excellent capture of the moment. Having been lucky enough to have seen a few wild dog kills, I can emphasize with the prey while marveling at abilities of the dogs. Richard

Compelling image, where expressions of antelope tell it all.

This is hard to look at...but well captured.  The title fits the expression well.

Excellent view of the expression on the victim's face, which really makes the shot.  I think it works much better this way than if the dogs had been the focus.
