I took this at the Botanical Gardens last week using my Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 100 mm L lens and the KX-800 twin flash with my homemade diffuser.  Settings were f16, 1/60, ISO 320, hand held.  I cropped it to about 80% of the full frame.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Shirley, Great depth of field management and good handling of the black color. I like the glow in the eyes.

Shirley, it's also a very colorful flower.  You've got outstanding details in and around the bee's head.  I also like your offset crop.

Hi Shirley,

Good job with the lighting for this bumblebee. You captured a little motion in the antennae as she was checking you out. The flower colors are very bright and you could tweak down the saturation slightly if so desired.  Otherwise, a fine comp with a wonderful subject....................................Jim
