Mourning Dove

This dove wandered in front of my blind at just about minimum focal distance, so I couldn't resist taking a portrait shot.  I smoothed out the lower part of the foreground a bit as it was coarse builders sand and just didn't look good.  I also cloned over a couple of dark areas at the top.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 531 mm, f/8, 1/1600, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped from a horizontal original to an arbitrary 10 MP vertical.  Taken August 2nd at 8:22 am under hazy/smoky skies.

Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Denis
It looks like the Dove is checking you out.  Nice work on the focus.

Excellent light in detail in this portrait of the dove Dennis.  The background really makes this work well.
