After work this evening I decided to walk down to our mailbox and spotted this day lily bunch through one of our redbud trees with a splash of sunlit yard behind it. I abandoned the mail run and got to work this for 2 or 3 minutes before the BG went in shade. These are very late blooming lilies and are in fact blooming for the second time this season. I used the shallow DOF as some intervening leaves in the FG became too intrusive at smaller apertures. All comments welcome.>=))>

The background does a nice job of highlighting the subject. Finding the right background for these close up flower shots is not easy, but this definitely is working.

Bill, this color of Day Lily was at one time a Day Lily grower's "wet dream." I am glad to see it come to fruition and that you got this glorious photo of it. Beautiful work of a beautiful flower
