I like using the pine pine boughs to frame this image, Ronald.  I think a cropping out the sky helps concentrate the impact of that framing.  Taking some from the darker left side also helps.

Like the idea of using pine as frame. However it is overwhelming. I may crop it a little to make it more impactful

Nice view of the small island through the pines, Ronald. The sky has some nice detail, but I tend to agree that cropping the image from the top and left keps the framing from overwhelming the image.

The pines do a wonderful job of framing the small island and drawing the viewer towards it, Ronald. The sky in the larger view certainly has nicer details, buy I tend to agree with the crop suggestions. I think that would make the small island even more impactful.

Ronald, This view makes me feel like I'm standing right there and I'm very much enjoying that. It is a beautiful view and so natural looking. Although the crop suggestions work I like it just as you have it here. Very nice processing too!

The framing with the pines does make me feel like I am standing here looking through the portal. I think the frame looks fine as it is. The processing looks nice, as well, and I like your treatment of the water.

Ronald,

I think you did well to craft this. One of those scenes that most would pass on by.  I expecially like the dappled light on the boulder. Even the sky plays a role here - it's fortunate you have some clouds to add interest.

This is really a very minor suggestion.  I think you could add a tiny bit of contrast to the little island itself to give it the perception of some more sharpness.  The depth overall is great with this image, but since the island is a focal point, I'd play with that a little. No biggie though.

Nicely done.
