Hi Barbara,

Beautiful rose I love the soft pastels. I may have framed a bit longer to get the full bottom leaf in as the cut point seems a bit abrupt.

A beautiful rose.  I like the angle you shot it at.  It stands out well against the dark background.

Hi Barb,

A very nice image.  Next time you shoot roses, think about Ryan's suggestion for framing the comp.  Colors are bright and the rose is nice and sharp.  The dark BG brings out those colors perfectly...........................Jim

Beautiful rose, Barbara, and I love the color.  Great detail in the pedals, and I can even see some tiny water drops on the edges.  Nice.

Great color and lighting.  I'm somewhat concerned about the light color leaves in the lower portion.  I feel it is a little distraction for a beautiful rose portrait.  Maybe a little to critcal?

Thank you for the feedback. For those of you who didn't like the leaves, does this look better to you? I also cropped a tiny bit off the bottom because I didn't think the "bump" should be there without any leaves.

Tamron has made some very sharp lenses. This is a good 'un. I had an earlier model of this 5 or 6 years ago, and it was incredibly sharp. The f/2.8 would wander from f/2.8 to almost f/4. It finally gave up the ghost and I had to junk it.
Lovely Hybrid rose! Good detail and color and really stands up against the dark BG. A small nit—it is difficult to see the boundary between the photo and the black frame. More of an aggravation than a distraction to me. I use a 2 pixel white pin stripe for separation, but that could be my OCD speaking. I have to keep food separate on my plate as well!
I am in agreement with the others on the framing.

I do personally enjoy the cropped version more.

The pastel colors in this rose are wonderful, Barbara!  I prefer the original version with the leaves.  I think the green leaves add to the beauty of this image. The soft dark green color in the background is very nice.

Hi Barbara

This is a very lovely rose.  I like the dew detail on some of the petals.  As far as the leaves go, I guess I am in the camp that likes the leaves but would have liked to see all of that cut off leaf.  If that is not possible , then I prefer the redo.  Either way it is lovely.

Best

Barbara: I like both versions. We have some just like this and they are favorite subjects for me. Very nicely done.>=))>
