Croc pot poppies

Here is something a little different. I was doing dishes and noticed some pretty interesting bubble patterns in my soapy water filled soaking croc pot. I thought it could make for some cool ring flash reflections so i grabbed my olympus em10 with 60mm macro and ring flash and made a few exposures. I processed the image during the same time I was working on an image of a poppy that I photographed on an LED lightbox and processed using LAB inversions in photoshop. I decided to paint in the poppy in a few of the soap bubbles. I was pretty pleased with the result. It was a fun little project.  During processing is used the topaz glow plug in to get some of the webbing effect. The rest was processed in ACR and photoshop.

Wow, Ryan, very creative and very beautiful. I love the way the poppies are featured in the bubbles, plus the coloring in the bubbles is also great. Fun and unique image, executed perfectly!

Ryan, this is totally mind blowing, photo art brought to a whole new level. Looks like it's time consuming to create(?)

To get the full effect this must be viewed large. Quite spectacular. Impressive.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Bill, it wasnt super time consuming. Between processing the flower, the bubbles and then doing the composite maybe an hour or so. It helped that everything had a black background so the blending was pretty straightforward. I am going to do a few more and make a little series out of it over time.

Crazy beautiful.  The combination of effects look great together.  The web network in the large view is pretty impressive.
