Juvenile Reddish Egret

I have mentioned before that I typically have seen the adults around Tampa Bay, although I've never seen juveniles there. Oddly enough I've only seen them in my home town, and not very often. As juveniles, they do the distinctive animated feeding behavior, but to me they are the least photogenic of all the waders by comparison to their beauty as adults. Recently there have been two of them hanging out around Gulfport harbor, likely siblings. This guy was at too close a range for a decent comp, and not that sharp. So I gave it all the help I could with a big boost in sat/vibrance, selective sharpening brush and a content aware crop for more real estate LHS. Unfortunately these guys are still pretty ugly, especially when molting.

HI Bill
Thank you for this Reddish Egret posting, I never seen one with this coloring.  You did a good job with sharping.

Nice job on the added canvas, Bill.  You could probably get away with adding just a touch more at the bottom as well.  Excellent shot and pose, regardless of the drabness of the plumage.
