Juvenile White Ibis, my back yard after Hurricane Irma as the water receded

9/13/2017, 5:41:23 PM
Canon EOS 7D Mark II EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM +1.4x III @560mm
f/8, 1/1600, -1, ISO 800
Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metering
Imported into LR, processed in Adobe RAW and CC PS 2017, cropped a little because of rotation.

I have several images from yesterday of birds eating worms.  There's one here at the end of this Ibis's bill.

I think my settings are good/right on this one.  Please let me know what you think.

Also, I used 1200 and 720 mp instead of 1600 and 720 mp.  Please let me know how these look.  Please view the larger image for critiquing.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Both 1200 and 720px versions look good. Exposure looks good. Nice detail. I like the composition and the setting.

I'd consider taking out the OOF blue spot on the single tall blade above the ibis. I assume this is a dragonfly.

Bad for worms, but great for crawfish or floating little fishies!

Excellent capture, Barbara!  Exposure is perfect, it's very sharp and detailed and the worm is a nice little bonus.  The large version is particularly nice.

You certainly have a lot more interesting birds in your yard than mine.  A very nice looking image with good detail and color.  The light is quite pleasing.  At this time of the year, I'm stuck with Chickadees, Juncos, House Finches, and Goldfinches.

Excellent, Barbara.  Detail and exposure of the Ibis are spot on.  I really like this plumage-much nicer than the juveniles I've seen in March/April.  DOF is perfect for this subject and scene and the foreground shadow works very nicely.

Nice image Barbara! I like everything about this. I do think Richard has a good suggestion and other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.
