Barn Swallow

This was taken at the local sewage pond.  Hundreds of Barn Swallows and Violet-green Swallows were flying over the ponds and at any given time dozens would land on the railing of a catwalk over one of the ponds. I was using my car as a blind and was probably twenty feet away from the swallows.

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Anytime one can get this close to a Swallow is good.  This exhibits good detail and color.  The crop is a little tight for my taste but I would do the same because of the perch.  The bird really has a nice pop in its environment and that is what I like most about the image.

Very nice. The setting gives this somethin g of an abstract feel. Excellent detail. Good light.

Nice color and detail, Allen.  The rail makes a pretty good perch since it almost blends into the bg.
