ISO 200, 1/160 @ f8, Three image blend for HDR.
This is certainly not the most dramatic shot from our trip to Alaska but if I had to pick one image to encapsulate our 17 days there this might be it; cloudy skies, glacier fed braided river, verdant forest and rugged mountains. We only had two days of bright sunshine throughout our time there but so it goes. Taken on the Glenn Highway on our way to Wrangell - St Elias. All comments welcome.>=))>

I can see why this is your favorite, Bill.  I've never had to the pleasure to visit this country (yet), but I love the enormity of the mountains and foreground timber.  Excellent.

The large version is a must for this image. The detail in each tree and bush is amazing. It's amazing how straight that river is. Nice image. Thanks for sharing.

Great scene and I really like the detail in the fg and mountains.  Very nice.

The colors on the mountain side grab my attention tight away.  A fine Alaskan shot but the river does not hold me as well.

Beautiful scene, Bill. That is classic Alaska! I really like the way the river splits and the canyon leads me to the right and up while the mud flat balances the left. Works quite nicely for me.

Beautiful detail and great color, Bill. The image really captures the enormity of the land. I might be tempted to deepen the darks just a wee bit, but this works nicely as presented.

Bill,

At first glance this made me think of the Snake River overlook; kinda the same layout, different mountains though.  I too really like the color and detail throughout.

I don't know if this is natural or not, but I see what appears to be slight haloing. This would be in the UR quadrant at the low end of the primary ridge; where it gets dark

Beautifully rendered.
