An amazing juxtaposition of the warming colors and the forboding darkness and fog fot me. There is an appealing balance of these elements to my eye.

I'm surprised this hasn't received a comment yet. I'm not knowledgeable on the orton effect but if that's what I'm seeing I think it worked well here. The mist and trees are sort of moody and a sharp yellow tree would probably not fit the ambiance of this image. This really a beautiful scene. Despite the orton effect the yellows are a bit overpowering compared to the rest. Perhaps that's the desired effect.

Excellent processing, just the right softness to give it the atmosphere I think you were going for.
Maybe a tad lower angle if possible?

Really nice, Daniel. The splash of yellow autumn leaves contrasts beautifully with the misty BG and your SS choice has rendered some nice detail in the water. Works for me.

Daniel,

There is a certain magical, mystical look to this that makes is quite a bit different than we normall see.  The fog/mist and dampness in general create a great atmosphere and like Igor, I'm wondering if that is the source of the glow, or if there is a bit of Orton going on. BTW, it doesn't matter to me if there was, the results speak for itself!

While the tree and yellow leaves dominate, I really like the simplicity of the scene with just two other elements - the river and the forest on the right. At first, I thought the balance of all the elements was a bit awkward; perhaps the near square format?  But then the more I've looked at this, the more solid I think the composition becomes.

A wonderfully different and successful autumn scene.

The misty look is wonderful in this.  Might I suggest a small crop from the top, or clone, to rid the dark area in the ULC?  I like how the branch overhangs the river and the left rock.

Hi Daniel

This has mood by the bucket load and I love the gentle fall off of focus weather genuine by choice of depth of field and the use of lens compression or by digital Orton effect.  Spectacularly good.  Just one wee negative you might be able to adjust by careful cropping or subjective lightening.  The hole in the foliage in the extreme top left corner at the edge of the frame does draw the eye away from the soft light airiness of the middle composition

Lovely fall scene. I love the mist and softness of the yellow leaves. Very nicely captured and processed.
