My backyard visitors are usually limited to house finches, sparrows, doves, and an occasional dark-eyed junco or robin. So, you can imagine my surprise and excitement when I looked out and saw this beautiful Cooper's Hawk perched on my birdbath.
Nikon D5, Nikkor 80-400mm at 400mm, f/6.3, 1/125, ISO 1600, handheld, taken thru glass door.

Gorgeous bird Sharron. You did an excellent job capturing the setting and the details are fantastic here. Nice.

Always good to be ready for that surprise opportunity that may come your way, and this is proof of it, Sharon.  Great detail and it looks like he just posed for you.  Wonderful shot.

Beautiful raptor, nicely posed.  Shooting through glass can be difficult, but this worked out.
