From Arches a few years back. I thought this little detail resembled wood. I was on the fence about the lighter wedge at bottom, so I might try cropping it.

Love the lines and textures in your image, Bill.  Has a wonderful flow to it.  I do not think I would crop this in any way as you would loose some of the wonderful curves and lines.  If anything, you could try darkening the lower right hand corner area or even trying selectively color matching that 'wedge' to the rest of the image.  Well seen.

Bill, the textures and color of this are very nice. My first thought when viewing this was to darken that lower right, so I agree with Vance, I wouldn't crop it. The composition has a great flow to it as is, and the darkening should be an easy fix.

I like the way the flow fo the sandstone pulls your eye so quickly.  A very good visual effect.

I really like the flow and the detail of this rock Bill. Great color also. It definitely has the look of old wood.

Bill, the lines, especially that nice swirl in the upper left, look great here.  I agree with the thoughts against cropping this view as the long "flowing tail" is a very important part of the view.  I agree that burning-in that lighter part should work.

Appreciate the comments guys. I hadn't considered burning in the brighter wedge, but a great suggestion. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks again.
