Night light

I had seen a few of these mushroom lamp images online so decided to have a go at it.  I really like the effect and found it quite challenging to execute. A lot of focus stacking and light painting in the field on a very small subject (pine needles in the pic for reference) then all the layers and blending in photoshop. The light was created using a small LED flashlight.

This is fun, Ryan.  It's easy to see why you are attracted to the concept.  I like the lit "thing" behind the shroom also.  It add to the sense of a fairy scene.  I'm still waiting for the little person to show up under the shroom.  You could crop this to square (or even possible vertical) to focus even more on the two nicely lit elements.  Your stacking looks good.

Hi Ryan,

The square crop as Mark suggested may improve the comp.  I like the mushroom, but the tip of the stick on the left pulls my eye away from the subject.  Other than that, a pretty cool image.  Well done..................Jim

Cute mushroom. I like the green color in the image. I agree with Jim and wish the stick was not there. Lovely photo.
