Pine Siskin
by Dennis Plank
I finally got back out to the blind today and actually had some sun peeking in and out this morning. Judging by the looks inside the blind, I'm going to need to do some roofing repair if we get a bit of a dry spell. There weren't a lot of Siskins around today, but they're in beautiful plumage and tend to stay put longer than Chickadees, so I got some fairly nice poses. This is one of my favorites from the session.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 451 mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind window, f/9, 1/320, iso 1600 aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped a bit from the top and right to 17.6 MP before resizing. Taken at 9:39 this morning, probably under fairly cloudy skies, judging by my settings.
Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.
Thanks,

9 commentsIt seems like the siskins showed up early this year, I was seeing them in early September at my feeders.
