Tight crop on bottom because parking lot blacktop was right up against the rocks.

Michael,

What, another parking lot shot?  enlightened Sorry, couldn't resist after your last post.  And I can ask that because, like when we were kids... "It takes one to know one."

And of course no one would know - all that matters is what you have captured here.  The cool fog makes this image, but then the oaks are beautifully formed and together they make for a moody and beautiful image.  The lichen covered boulders anchor the composition very nicely.  I love the flow and bend of all the branches; especially in the center of the frame.

I'm guessing there may be comments about the color.  Honestly, my first reaction was "the blue hour."  But the more I look at this and especially the larger view, the more I think this is closer to reality than not.  I've seen rock like this and there is blue, and there's the pale, lime green lichen.  All in all, I like this as processed.

My only small suggestion would be a slight crop from the top to eliminate the bright patch exiting the frame.  A slight crop also removes some of the bright area off the top.  There still remains a lot of bright in that area, it's not practical to think all the bright fog could be eliminated.

Cool kinda spooky image. With this one, I might be inclined to go B&W. It just has the kind of feel for me. Good stuff.

These blue images are right down alley. I like this a lot. In fact, I've been recently thinking that images with one color pervading the image are particularly beautiful and more artful as well. In this case blue is a good color for those twisted and diagonal branches. The color and shapes work together to evoke an emotion. I might do a small crop off the bottom to not make it look as though the rocks are resting on edge of frame. A really fine image.

Fascinating blue fog, Michael.  I love the fact that this is adjacent to a parking area.  Good images all around us, we just have to see  them.  I agree with Lon's suggestion about a crop from the top to just below the angled bright spot.  Really nice work.

Looks like I really missed out on this trip. I love the fog and the mood it projects in this scene; but I especially like the character of those couple of trees in the middle of the frame. This is as gorgeous as your prior post, Mike. What do you think of a small crop from the bottom; just enough to get rid of the ground and leave the rocks as the bottom edge?

This is exceptional, Michael. The blue tones in the image are gorgeous. The lichen covered rocks make a great anchor for the twisting trees, and the fog adds wonderful mood and mystery. I agree with Lon on his crop suggestion.

Such great mood in this.  I appreciate Harley's B&W suggestion, but I think I prefer it as presented.  Thoroughly beautiful.  Well done.
